Underwater Photography Workshop with Amanda Cotton
Place: Cancun, Quintana Roo.
Date: August 19th to 23rd

Workshop will be open to all skill levels from point and shoots to advanced shooters. Curricula will be customized based on students needs.

"Amanda Cotton is a freelance photographer based in Florida, U.S.A. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Professional Photography while attending Brooks Institute of Photography and currently works as a correspondent and field editor for Ocean Geographic magazine, as well as Gallery Editor for Shark Savers and is on the Advisory Board for Oceanic Defense. Her imagery has been published in several major publications including National Geographic, Discovery, Times Publishing, Shark Diver Magazine, Natural History Magazine, Science Daily; as well as many international advertising campaigns. Amanda is quite honored to have been the recipient of many awards including several from the International Photographers Awards (IPA), Celebrate The Sea, and Underwater Photography Annual Awards among others. Day 1
Everyone together in a pool setting for a couple hours to go over the following:
Camera set up-including:
Strobe/housing configurations.
Basic exposure and understanding.
White balancing.
Shooting modes/ etc.
Strobe use and function

Day 2:
Snorkeling with whale sharks:
Information on shooting large animals.
Tips and secrets.
Photoshop tutorials including workflow

Day 3:
Cenote Diving:
Information on shooting in low light including strobe use.
Exposure and lighting techniques, etc.
Photoshop tutorials including workflow

Day 4:
Reef Diving:
Information on shooting close up wide angle.
Exposure changes for different environments.
Strobe techniques.
Macro shooting information and techniques.
Photoshop tutorials including workflow

Photoshop tutorials will include:
Working in bridge and cs3 and cs4
Backscatter removal
Basic workflow for image cataloging
Keywording
Data collection
Dodging and burning techniques
Masking/adjustment layering techniques
Copyright protection information
Curves
Conversion to black and white
Removal of unwanted items in image
Printing techniques
Calibrating monitors
Cropping and transformation
Other subjects of interest.
