This past weekend I had the opportunity to visit with an incredible woman, Deborah Misotti who has created through much blood, sweat and tears a labor of love, The Talkin Monkeys Project, Inc.
"The Talkin’ Monkey’s project provides a life-long home for animals that have been rescued from abusive private homes or released from research laboratories and breeding facilities. Our main focus is to provide a home for these forgotten apes and monkeys while striving to connect people to earth-friendly lifestyles." -Mission Statement of The Talkin' Monkeys Project, Inc.
"Hope, a Lar Gibbon who resides at TMP"
Not only has Deborah and her husband provided a safe haven for these monkeys and primates, she also provides an environment full of enrichment and stimuli, enabling them to thrive in their daily lives. All too often these animals are thrown away and forgotten, but thanks to the efforts of Deborah, her husband and a few caring visitors to the project, these primates have a chance at a truly fulfilled and loving life within the sanctuary of The Talkin' Monkey Project.
"Hope with Marc Ellis, project photographer"
I implore you to visit their website, learn more about the project and help out in whatever way you possibly can. So rarely do we come across individuals truly making a difference, but Deborah is certainly one of them.
