It seems it is possible for mainstream media to portray sharks in a positive light. Close Encounters with Magnificent Sharks is one such example. Big kudos to Nadine Dreyer of The Times out of Johannesburg and to SharkLife, for their efforts toward clearing up the misconceptions many have about sharks.
SharkLife is a great conservation group that deserves your attention. Their Mission statement: "As a registered non-profit organisation, Sharklife addresses the alarming exploitation of both shark populations and ocean fisheries in South African waters. We actively engage the urgent need for research and protection of many marine species."
